NFL Week 15 Game

NFL Week 15 Game Preview: Cowboys at Colts

February 19, 2019 by Milam Leave a Comment

Indianapolis kept its playoff hopes alive by ending the Texans’ nine-game winning streak last week. Now they plan to end the Cowboys’ five-game run to keep up with the pack of teams fighting for the second AFC wild card.

Of course, the Cowboys have other ideas. They want to clinch the NFC East division title this week on the way to running the table into the playoffs.

With Amari Cooper providing more to the Cowboys’ offense than he did in all his years in Oakland, the Dallas offense looks unstoppable. Ezekiel Elliott is having another great season, but hardly anybody has noticed since Cooper came on board.

Dak Prescott is a different quarterback with a premier receiving threat on the field. Opponents blitz less and the other receiving options can find gaps in coverage while Cooper draws their attention.

Dallas’ defense is a formidable unit, too. All of it adds up to a playoff caliber team and has fans calling Jerry Jones a genius for spending a first-round pick on Cooper, as well as resisting calls to fire Jason Garrett.

Andrew Luck and the Colts bounced back from the shutout thrown at them in Week 13 to beat the Texans in Houston. TY Hilton has been playing the Amari Cooper role in Indianapolis for years, although the Colts’ running game is not as prolific as the Cowboys’.

Injuries and notes

Indianapolis reported no new injuries after the Texans game, and the same five players are questionable for Dallas as last week.

Sean Lee will probably miss another game, along with wideout Tavon Austin.

Coaching matchup

Amid the speculation that Frank Reich’s magic had run out during the Week 13 shutout loss to the Jaguars, the coach had his team ready and able to knock the Texans down a peg in front of their home fans. Dallas presents a different challenge, but Reich’s innovations and game planning keep fans hoping for another upset.

Jason Garrett survived 3-5 and a bad loss in Amari Cooper’s first game to reformulate the Cowboys offense to take advantage of his new weapon. His relationship with Jones is strong and might have prevented someone else from putting this team back in the playoffs.

How to watch the Colts-Cowboys

Fox Sports will deliver this game across much of the country in the first time slot Sunday. Lots of folks will use their overpriced cable or satellite TV providers to view the action, but smarter fans have already cut that cord and switched to internet TV companies like Fubo TV.

Fubo TV, along with DirecTV Now, Sling, and other internet television providers, brings you all the local and national networks you need to follow your favorite NFL team for just a fraction of the cost of cable or satellite.

Plus, Fubo TV, Sling, and DirecTV Now don’t require any expensive equipment and they’ll never make you sign a contract to receive all the games, along with tons of other movie and entertainment venues.

With a standard no-obligation trial period, Fubo TV, DirecTV Now, and Sling let you see how much they offer before you pay a dime. With a great offer on a great product like that, how can you keep paying your cable and satellite providers so much for so little?

Who will win the Colts-Cowboys game?

Dallas is on quite a roll, but still needed overtime and a little luck to take out a flawed Eagles team. Indianapolis showed it can be held down by a good defensive plan and the Cowboys certainly spent as much time looking at the Jaguars game film as the Texans’.

Dallas has extended itself a little bit of a lead, while the Colts are in a must-win situation from here on out. In front of the home crowd, expect Luck and Hilton to make something happen.
